Managing .Name Domain Names in Watch My Domains or Domain Punch Pro

Here is a quick tip…

The expiry date information is not part of the .name whois records if you do a standard whois lookup. To get the expiry date set the “command line” option in the “Whois Config” panel to

domain=

You should also set the date format to mmdd.

The above tip is valid for all our domain name management products including Watch My Domains and Domain Punch Pro.

Please note that there is also a Mac OS X version of Watch My Domains.

SSL Certificate Monitoring using Domain Punch Pro and Watch My Domains

The current versions of Watch My Domains ISP and Domain Punch Pro support monitoring SSL certificates associated with domains. Please see the screen-shots below.

Enabling SSL Check

Since most domains in your domain name portfolio may not have SSL certificates, the SSL check has to be enabled for each domain (or enabled globally for all domains). You can do this from the “details” tab in the lower panel.

Sub domains for SSL check

You can specify a default sub-domain for SSL checking (see screenshot above). If the subdomain is not specified the SSL check will be done after appending “www.” in front of the domain name. To check SSL for only the domain name (no www) specify the subdomain as “-” (without the quotes).

Enable SSL checking for all domains

To enable SSL checking for all domains, check the “Always do SSL check” box in the “App Settings” dialog.
